The City of Cedar Springs is proposing to amend and update its 2006 Downtown Development Authority (DDA) Tax Increment Financing (TIF) plan. A DDA TIF plan does not increase taxes but does change how that money is spent. The DDA can use money from the TIF to develop the downtown parts of a City by, amongst other things, improving streetscapes, developing parking areas and renovating commercial buildings for reuse. The DDA can work to improve the vibrancy of the downtown area in a number of ways which promotes businesses and brings better public use to the City.
