The City is required to monitor its drinking water for specific contaminants on a regular basis. During September, 2015 a routine water sample tested positive for total coliform bacteria. All follow up sampling has indicated that the water was safe and met State and Federal drinking water standards and no violation occurred. Please be advised this is not an emergency. Fall Leaf Pickup Begins Oct. 5, 2015
Fall leaves are beginning to fall... and Department of Public Works employees will be picking them up. Beginning October 5, 2015 and running through November 20, 2015 (or the first major snowfall), City workers will be out vacuuming leaves from City streets. Residents are asked to rake leaves to the edge of the road and to wet them down to prevent the leaves from blowing away. Drug Collection / Disposal Box at City Hall
A medication/drug box is available at City Hall for area residents to deposit unused medications/drugs. The Cedar Springs Police Department is participating in a drug collection and disposal program to provide a safe disposal site for area residents to anonymously dispose unused prescription medications. This program provides an environmentally safe alternative to disposing of medications in a landfill or sewer system which may later negatively affect the environment.
