Public Notice – Water Quality

The City is required to monitor its drinking water for specific contaminants on a regular basis.  During September, 2015 a routine water sample tested positive for total coliform bacteria. Imperial Municipal Services has taken over as the City's building inspection firm. The company, located at 263 Northland Drive in Rockford, began issuing building, electrical, mechanical and plumbing permits Monday, January 18, 2016. Attention Snow Birds!

For those of you who “winter” in the warmer states or know you will be out of town for a given period of time, please let the City know where to send your utility bills. The post office does not forward utility bills so if we do not have a forwarding address, you may not receive your bills in a timely manner. We also ask that you let us know when you return so that we may resume sending your bills to your normal address. You also have the option of paying your bill in advance. Seasonal Parking Restrictions

The Kent County Sheriff Department Cedar Springs Unit would like to remind the residents of Cedar Springs of the city Parking Ordinance 36-86.  This ordinance states: Sec. 36-86 Overnight Parking on Streets from November 1 to April 1 (a)  No motor vehicle shall be parked on any street within the city after 3:00 a.m. and prior to 6:00 a.m.  between November 1 of any year and April 1 of the following year.  Where public street boundaries are not defined by curbing, it shall be deemed unlawful to … [Read more...]

Morley Park Pavilion Dedication

A dedication ceremony for the Morley Park Pavilion will be held Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Morley  Park. The pavilion was constructed, planned and funded through the efforts of Kevin Galloway as his Eagle Scout Project.  Kevin raised over $18,000.00 in donations to construct the project.  Through the efforts of community volunteers and local business owners the pavilion was constructed this past summer. The City of Cedar Springs is beginning an update of our Master Plan, a process that is undertaken every five years.  The Master Plan is created by the Planning Commission, adopted by the City Council and serves to guide the City as it grows and develops.
