Rose Ellen Powell was born and raised in Sand Lake and has lived in the City of Cedar Springs since 1970. She and her husband, Chris, have been married for 47 years and have three children: Gina, Brynadette and Christopher. They have two grand-children and two great-grandchildren.
Rose is a graduate of Cedar Springs High School. She is a member of the VFW Auxiliary of Howard City; American Legion Auxiliary of Cedar Springs; the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Sand Lake; the Cedar Springs Historical Society; the Cedar Springs Kent Theatre Association; Cedar Springs Women’s Club; Community Building Development Team and is a proud sponsor/volunteer for the Red Flannel Festival.
Rose was elected to the City Council in November, 2014 and re-elected in November of 2016. She has served on the Cedar Springs Board of Elections, Downtown Development Authority, and the Zoning board of appeals. She currently serves on the Downtown Development Authority and the Zoning Board of Appeals.
