Rebecca Johnson was hired as the City Clerk for the City of Cedar Springs in September of 2016. She married her husband Flynt in May 2018. She currently resides with her husband, daughter, and two dogs in Sand Lake, MI.
Rebecca grew up in Cedar Springs and has been an active member of the community for many years. She participated in the National Honor Society, served on the 2007 Red Flannel Court, and graduated with honors from Cedar Springs Public Schools.
She has a true passion for helping others. She graduated Cum Laude from Central Michigan University. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in Family Studies and Psychology with a minor in Leadership.
Rebecca continues to help others as a public servant for the City of Cedar Springs. She is a member of the Kent County Clerks Association, Michigan Municipal Clerks Association, and the International Institute for Municipal Clerks. As a member of the Kent County Clerks Association, she has served as the President (2021), Vice President (2020), and on the Research and Technology Committee from (2017-Present). In 2019, the Michigan Association of Municipal Clerks (MAMC) awarded Rebecca the Michigan Professional Municipal Clerk (MiPMC) designation. Rebecca continued her education and professional development and earned the designation of Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) from the International Institute of Municipal Clerk (IIMC) in 2021. She is dedicated to providing quality service to the public and the municipality she serves. She continues to pursue the Master Municipal Clerks (MMC) Designation from the International Institute of Municipal Clerk (IIMC).
In her spare time, she enjoys camping, crafting, and volunteering within the community.
